Seniors Helping Seniors

Senior volunteers pair with isolated seniors for friendly visits, phone check-ins, and practical support.

Seniors Helping Seniors

Our team of seniors, including our very own senior advisor Jim Wong, along with Eddie Tse, Ellen Wong, Jeannie Tse, May and Jack Yee, Irene and Joe Ng, and others, have been busy taking part in the “sewing face masks” project, making masks for distribution to seniors in need in our community.

Thank you for all your generosity and contribution to such a meaningful and successful initiative.

More Than Just Giving

At the Alliance of Calgary Community Ethnic Support Society (ACCESS), we know helping is not limited to giving. Hence why we present work opportunities for eager community-driven participants, regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, and age. For instance, during the pandemic, many of Calgary’s elderly did not want to sit idly by, watching the world around them crumble. Understandably, they wanted to take action. So, at ACCESS, we had an initiative to both provide for those in need and for those who want to help. Thus began our Sewing Face Masks project, where elders sewed face masks for other elders.
